If you fail to plan then it fails to happen. 

I am really impressed that over the last month I have recieved an email every day from our mission team leaders Ed and Sam with a prayer point every day about how the mission will work. 

This was the one that arrived in my inbox today:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We rejoice in your sovereignty and in your power to draw people to yourself. We pray that you might do mighty things this week in the hearts of many people who come along to events. We pray that the team will work in love and unity and that in all the events Jesus will be central and his name glorified!

Amen

"...I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me - the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace" ACTS 20:24

I prayed.  Then hit delete.

Similarly they have given me a list of things to ensure are prayed for in our team meetings each day of mission.  I think it is fantastic that these things have been thought about beforehand.



Suggested prayer points for each day…

THURSDAY

-    Thank God for the Ultimate Relationship Dinner, for Peter and the people who came who didn't have a relationship with God.
-    Pray for follow-up that people will come to Introducing God next week.
-    Pray for Conversation Hour…that there’ll be lots of good conversations, that people will be bold and not nervous, and that the gospel will be explained clearly
-    Pray for Ethics and Climate Change – that lots of people will come who don’t know God and that AB would speak clearly
-    For the Film Festival…that Matt would speak clearly and that lots of guests would come.
-    That everyone would have a great day and not be too tired!

FRIDAY

-    Thank God for yesterday and all the events and things that were run…
-    Thank God for Craig’s section and their hard work getting the Film Festival together
-    Thank God for Nick and Soph’s group and AB for speaking at the Ethics and Climate Change talk
-    Pray for the Reading Books with Kids event
-    That the photo exhibition will be set up in time…for Liz and Paul’s section who is running it
-    That Christine will speak God’s word clearly and boldly…that lots of guests will come
-    For the Ultimate Reality Youth Event…for Nick and Soph’s group and for Sam Russell who is speaking at it

SATURDAY

-    Thank God for yesterday’s events and for the section’s who ran them
-    Pray for Michael and Carrie’s group who are running Carnivale
-    Pray that everything runs smoothly and that there are lots of great conversations
-    Pray that we all have a great time at team fun night!

SUNDAY

-    Thank God for the Carnivale and pray for good follow-up afterwards…that lots of good conversations and contacts were made…
-    Pray for our church meetingsthat Dominic will speak clearly and that the gospel will be declared clearly and faithfully…
-    Pray that lots of people will come to the BBQ…and good relationships developed.
