MEDIA RELEASE
Finally, one of the Inner West's most creative and artistic communities gets what it deserves – its own film festival.
The inaugural Annandale Community Short Film Festival is bringing the
best of burgeoning Australian screen talent to the Inner West. To be
held at the Annadale Community Church, Johnson St, from 7.30pm on
Thursday, September 13, 2007, the Short Film Festival features a
handpicked selection of acclaimed and award-winning mini movies.
Notable shorts include Tropfest best picture winner Carmichael and Shane, Nash Edgerton's Lucky and Love Thy Neighbour, a top prize-winner at the Ignite film festival.
One timely and possibly controversial choice is Garbage Man, the infamous Chaser team's short comedy about a cardboard George Bush stalking a young woman.
With the event to be hosted by Empire magazine's Ben
McEachen (who was also on the festival's selection panel), the
Annandale Community Short Film Festival will be an amazing local screen
event. Entry is free, all cinematic refreshments will be on offer, the
church will be converted into a contemporary cinema, and there will be
opportunities for you, your friends and those you are seated next to to
discuss the great, interesting and hilarious works you've just watched.
The film festival is part of the Start the Ultimate Relationship
outreach by the Annandale Community Church. What better way to start an
ultimate relationship than with an intimate, entertaining night of
films, fun and friends?
