Spreadsheets galore! - Organisational documents |

One of the (many) things I learnt as co-leader of the mission team was how to keep track of information. As someone said to me, "spreadsheets are your best friend."

The inner west is not big on teenagers, so we are running a little behind the eight ball here. But we used 'Start the Ultimate Relationship' week to up the anti in our ministry to youth.
Sam reports: On the friday night, Crossfire had its first evangelistic night -
"Ultimate Reality". It was part of Annandale Community Church's 'Start
the Ultimate Relationship' week, and was a great night.
Here's how we planned what we did on our night:

Carnivale - review |
These are just a few quick words about Carnivale, which we held in front of our church on Saturday. Dominic may write a bit more about it next week.
In life, you always have to play to your strengths. One of the "strengths" our church has it's situation at the intersection of the two most important streets in Annandale. We have absolutely perfect location. How to exploit this?

Goals for mission |
In planning mission the two goals in tension are 'training the team' vs 'getting the job done.' My view is that we will have more impact for Christ in the long run if in planning and organising mission we put training ahead of getting the job done.

Here are a series of answers to common questions taken from Dominic Steele's Introducing God book. We use these answers in mission training because we are not sure about the copyright on other prepared answers. We are giving the book away to people on mission. You can order boxes of it here.

Door knocking and conversation stall feedback |
When people get back from door knocking and conversation stall they arrive back in dribs and drabs. It's great to strike when the irons hot and do feedback immediatly. We start the feedback when the first people arrive.
The organiser people always want to do it in small groups etc, but I always like to do it all in one big group so that I can have input into coaching how to do the conversations better.

Our Film Festival is a very 'first date' night. A night where people can come in the door of our building, feel safe and have a fun time. We will show a promo video for our Introducing God course and Matt and Ben who will host the evening are film fans.
An aim for the evening is 'make a little ground.'

Door Knocking & Conversation Stall |
Knocking on doors or having conversations with strangers is a really
important part of mission. I try to schedule things so that all team
members spend about an hour a day doing this and then a further 30-40
minutes debriefing and praying about the conversations they had.

First Team Meeting |
We’ve just finished our first team meeting. There are 35-40 full time
attenders for the four days of mission plus about the same number again
of part timers. The team time is a key time for establishing the values
of mission – and flowing from mission, the next year for church.
