Introducing God in Blacktown |

Christ Church Blacktown had been running another course for years. However I was concerned that the gospel was not clearly presented to people who attended the course.
I was aware of Introducing God and so invited André to come and run a training seminar to introduce us to it. The training and concepts explained there confirmed my view that Introducing God was vastly superior.
In moving to Introducing God, the Christian people who were part of the organizing team really threw themselves into making the course work. I can see now that they have clearly grown in their sense of ‘ministry mindedness’.
We’ve run Introducing God twice as church-wide event, and also for baptism preparation. We mentioned the course as follow-on from lots of major church events, including Easter and a big men’s event. Lots of family and friends were invited. On an average night of the course there were 30 people attending with about 10 guests.
We gave the Introducing God paperback ‘giveaway’ book to people who couldn’t make it to the course.
We’ve seen about ten fringe members and people not very keen in their faith renew their commitment to Christ. They’ve gone into small groups at the end of Introducing God and are moving forward and continuing to grow as Christians.
In October, we hosted a public Introducing God training seminar where André helped other local churches learn about the course. Some members of Christ Church Blacktown also attended and found it helpful and encouraging to see other churches in the area also using the course.
Overall, our members have increased their commitment to evangelism resulting in small group growth.
