Sovereign Grace church previewing iGod |
|
|

A Sovereign Grace church in the USA is previewing Introducing God for their members so they can experience first hand how a typical session works.
Covenant Life Church in Maryland have realised that members in their church need to gain confidence in this course, that it will do a good job of evangelising their friends, before they will invite them.
The Preview night is crucial to the success of the course.
Christians need to realise that the overall approach of Introducing God is 'gradual and relational, rather than immediate and confrontational. They will need to see and experience this approach in practise before inviting their friends to Introducing God' (Course Driver's Manual, p24) |

Chaplain visit introduces God |

Just thought I would share an interesting incident with you.
I work in a hospital as a chaplain. I was talking to one of the patients and had left her some books to read, including a copy of Introducing God.
The next day, I was talking with her again, and she introduced me to the new person who was sharing her room. After we chatted for a while I asked if the other lady would like anything, and the first lady jokingly said to be careful because the Chaplain might give you one of these - as she brought out the book. The new lady's response was one of excitement as she replied "Oh wow! We use that course in our church! That's really good!"
It all made for a very interesting converation that evening!

Tim Keller on 'the Alpha format' |
|
|
'The only magic bullet that people are looking to right now is the Alpha program.' says Tim Keller, Senior Pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church, New York City.
'I would say that if you put the content aside for a second, the Alpha format is definitely a huge improvement and right for our time because there is a process involved instead of just a quick presentation and it’s more communal.'
Keller has identified that evenagelistic events do not sufficiently engage today's post-Christian generation. Instead evangelistic courses, such as Introducing God, give people time to process the gospel over a period of time. This is one of the major strengths of Introducing God.
Most churches want effective evangelism with no effort, no time and no cost. |
